Which taxonomies does eBilanz-Online support?

All taxonomies authorised by the tax authorities for the e-balance sheet are supported, as well as the current taxonomies under commercial law for disclosure to the Federal Gazette. In addition to the standard taxonomy, these are supplementary and special taxonomies. Further information on the application of taxonomies can be found on the websites www.esteuer.de and www.xbrl.de.

What should I do if the tax authorities publish a new taxonomy?

eBilanz-Online is always up to date.
The tax authorities update the taxonomies on which the transfer is based and the ERiC (Elster Rich Client) required for the transfer of the XBRL instance file at regular intervals. Shortly after a new taxonomy is published, it is made available in eBilanz-Online. A transfer based on the new taxonomy is then possible for those assessment periods for which this taxonomy is authorised. All you need to do is create a new transaction in eBilanz-Online to which the new taxonomy is assigned.

Does eBilanz-Online support the mapping of my totals/balances list to the taxonomy?

Yes, both the charts of accounts and the complete balance sheet and income statement structures can be assigned (‘mapped’) to the required taxonomy in the import area of eBilanz-Online. A so-called drag-and-drop mechanism is available for this purpose. It is also possible to import a mapping created outside eBilanz-Online using an Excel interface.

What are the deadlines for filing tax returns? How can mapping rules be defined in 2024?

By defining mapping rules once in advance, there is no need to carry out a ‘mapping’ again in all subsequent screens. In the import area under ‘Account mapping’, a mapping file in Excel format can be downloaded as a template (‘Save mapping file locally’) to match the accounts with the selected taxonomy. Once the edited file has been uploaded, the rules are defined in eBilanz-Online and immediately stored in all screens. Afterwards, Excel files with accounts and values can be imported in the ‘Account balances for allocation’ screen or in the respective GAAP module without having to ‘map’ them again.

For SAP users and users of the DATEV standard chart of accounts 03 and 04, the following additional offers are available to facilitate the necessary mapping process in eBilanz-Online:

  1. DATEV standard mapping: Companies that use SKR 03 or 04 have the option of using a simplified standard mapping to transfer the DATEV chart of accounts to eBilanz-Online.
  2. SAP mapping wizard: SAP offers a ‘mapping wizard’ that helps users to harmonise their values with a selected taxonomy. The result can be downloaded from SAP as a .txt file. It is now possible to import this .txt file into eBilanz-Online. The file can be uploaded using the ‘Values for taxonomy IDs (without mapping)’ option in the import area. This means that no further ‘mapping’ is required in eBilanz-Online. All necessary assignments have been made.
  3. Balance sheet and P&L structures from SAP: To facilitate the mapping of a company’s general ledger accounts to the taxonomy, an overall structure exported from SAP can be imported into eBilanz-Online under ‘Balance sheet and P&L structure’ in the import area. Here it is possible to upload templates in .csv or .txt format. In order to upload a file generated from SAP to ‘Balance sheet and P&L structure’, it must contain a correct hierarchy structure. The structure must show the hierarchies between all accounts and items in the balance sheet. Please note that importing a balance sheet and P&L structure does not replace the mapping. This is still required in the individual screens using the drag-and-drop method.

Which charts of accounts does eBilanz-Online support?

eBilanz-Online basically accepts all charts of accounts. This means that customised charts of accounts can also be imported and mapped.

SAP users also have the option of importing entire balance sheet structures and facilitating account allocation.

Ready-made standard mappings are provided for the standard DATEV charts of accounts (SKR 03 and SKR 04).

Does eBilanz-Online support me in creating the reconciliation?

Yes. eBilanz-Online provides its own functionality for creating the reconciliation statement. In this, the commercial balance sheet values are automatically transferred and can be adjusted to the tax valuations.

Can eBilanz-Online be used to transfer data from the previous period to the current period?

Yes, both the GCD module (master data module) and the GAAP module (annual accounts module) offer the option of exporting the data entered as Excel files. This means that data from the previous period can be exported and re-imported into the current period.

Does a reconciliation have to be transferred?

In accordance with the requirements of the tax authorities, you have the option of transferring a commercial balance sheet with reconciliation or a tax balance sheet (balance sheet that complies with tax regulations). If the commercial balance sheet with reconciliation statement is announced in the master data, the reconciliation statement (tax modifications) must also be transferred.

How can I enter my data in eBilanz-Online? Does the application offer interfaces for importing my data?

eBilanz-Online is always up to date.
You can enter the data from your bookkeeping in eBilanz-Online manually in the areas provided for this purpose (Import module, GCD module, GAAP module) or import it via a convenient Excel interface. All charts of accounts, such as DATEV, or customised charts of accounts are supported.

Can the import of data be limited to the mandatory fields?

Yes, as long as the values are clearly assigned to the taxonomy IDs, this is possible. eBilanz-Online assigns the values correctly (also in the GCD mask) and then shows, for example, the complete GCD fields as they are specified in the taxonomy. All fields that are imported empty are automatically labelled ‘NIL’ (Not In List).
